Presbyterian Women’s Spring Retreat
There are many opportunities for the women of our church to engage in fellowship, worship, and learning activities. Each Spring we join with the women at Orange Park Presbyterian Church to participate in an engaging retreat at Epworth by the Sea Conference Center, St. Simons, Georgia. A program is presented over the course of the weekend to strengthen our faith and to build our capacity to be a “light” to others.
Matthew 7: 24-29 is the parable about two men who chose to build their houses on either rock or sand. This parable was the theme of the 2025 Women’s Retreat on March 14-16. Twenty-seven women from the Orange Park and Green Cove Springs Presbyterian churches joined together to celebrate the many ways our faith can be a strong foundation to provide light to others facing darkness and pain. A program of skits, music, scripture, and our own personal experiences strengthened our resolve to continue to lighten the paths of others in distress. When our light reflects the light of Christ, others will know the love and support of Him during these dark times. Each of us recognized the many times in the past that others have shared with us the light of Christ. And we also were able to appreciate those times when we were able to be that light of love and support for others in tough times.
The Epworth by the Sea Center provides us with excellent facilities including water view bedrooms, a spacious meeting room, as well as a private dining room. The weekend concludes on Sunday with a private worship service in the Lovely Lane Chapel on the Epworth property. Time is built into the program for personal time to explore the many features of Epworth as well as the lovely town of St. Simons. The next retreat will be held on March 13-15, 2026. Registration forms will be available well in advance of the retreat.
