CALL TO WORSHIP

God’s people come together in this place and time.

We come here to bring our praises, to be in community, to sing, and to pray.

       Come, even with your difficulties.

We come with our troubles because this is a place of healing and faith.

       Come, too, with your successes.

We come with joy for this is a place of celebration and love.

Come with your sins as well.

We come as we are for this is a place of forgiveness and hope.

Come, here you will find God’s grace.

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, it’s plain and simple:  our thoughts are not your thoughts, and our ways are different from your ways.  Try as we may, we are unable to walk in perfect step with you.  We put other things first:  our social lives, our to-do-lists, our material gain, our addictions, our elegance, our own pleasures, our own plans.  And yet, you give us chance after chance to shape our thoughts and ways around you.  Forgive our misplaced priorities, O God.  Shape our behavior and lifestyles by the way, the truth, and the life of Jesus Christ, that we might follow you.  Amen.

SILENT CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*GLORIA PATRI

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end.  Amen,  Amen.

*PASSING OF THE PEACE

The peace of Christ rules in our hearts and binds us together.  Let us not keep it

contained.  The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

  And also with you.
