Local Missions Committee 2025 Project Progress

Progress thru May 13, 2025:

Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs: We support the food bank all year long with donations by our Congregation. Donations are made weekly and thru May 13. 1,114 food items have been donated. We have also donated many empty egg cartons, reusable bags, and various baby supplies the Pantry also needs. On Super Bowl Sunday the Congregation donated 152 cans of soup to our Soup Bowl Sunday event which in turn was given to the Food Pantry. We also support the Food Pantry with a portion of our special 2 Cents a Meal offering collected every month. In November we also collect Thanksgiving baskets which are donated to the Food Pantry for delivery to families in need. The Way Free Medical Clinic: From February 16 thru March 18 the Congregation donated 1,709 diapers and 6,709 wipes. This was presented to the Clinic along with a financial donation from the church budget. Project was completed March 18.

Safe Animal Shelter: Beginning April 20, the Congregation began donating items for the Shelter. Collections will continue until June 1. Collections include dog and cat food as well as pet toys, blankets, carriers, and anything else pet! A financial donation will also be given from the church budget. The project will be completed June 1. School Supply Drive: This project will begin June 15 and end July 27. All supplies collected will be delivered to the schools before school starts early August.

Salvation Army: Church members will volunteer for Kettle Bell Ringing in front of the Winn Dixie store on Hwy 17. The Congregation also volunteers to fill Christmas Stocking for the Salvation Army. Exact dates and times have not been set yet. Please be sure to check back and see our progress as the year progresses.
